Virtouso is when you can tell whos playin after the first couple of notes, its not all about playin super fast and shreddin yer arse off (though it does help!), take dream theater for example, they all play shit fast but suck serious ass. Virtuoso examples: Vai, Wylde, May, Dime, Hendrix and Alexi laiho. I play guitar in case you hav'nt already figured.

Yeah, dt are all exceptional players. But a good bit of their stuff is hard to listen to - you really have to concentrate to hear whats going on. Brian may is a legendary player, you're right though, he could'nt really be described as a virtuoso but hes as good a player as lots of the virtuosos.

Ok, ok, I admit I was wrong! I take it all back. Replace him with van halen or randy rhoads.

Well done Nailer. You're cool, really. ;D
There's all these new-breed guitarists that people class as virtuosos like Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Tremonti. Yeah they're good, but that's like saying Michael Romeo is a virtuoso.
Here John, am I still playing bass for you? Cuz if you need another guitarist I'd much prefer play guitar.
